Resources

The Healthy Pregnancy Program staff can complete Presumptive Eligibility applications for immediate Medicaid coverage. If they choose to enroll in the program, your patient can receive extra time with nurses and social workers who will take the time to get to know each patient and what they need for their pregnancy, educate them on how to keep themselves and their baby healthy, and link to their community for things like food, transportation, and items for their baby. They can also see a dental hygienist or trained nurse to receive dental services.
Healthy Pregnancy Program services may be offered to clients during WIC appointments, in their home, or at a local public health agency. Clients can receive Healthy Pregnancy Program services in addition to other programs, such as local home visiting programs. Healthy Pregnancy Program home visits are done by a nurse who can do a physical assessment and check on the baby.
